At today's OB-GYN visit the baby's heartbeat was good and Christine's belly measured 25 weeks, which is ahead of the actual 23 weeks 2 days. The doctor was not concerned by this.
The doctor discussed having the cesarean at 37 weeks. (Week 37 begins on my birthdate, May 15th.) Apparently there is some new thinking about the best time for a scheduled c-section when the mother has already had an earlier "classical" c-section. Our bias is to keep the baby inside Christine for as long as possible. It's all about balancing the risk of complications versus the normal desire for a baby to go as close to full term as possible.
This decision will be made much closer to the due date.
