Hailey's newest game is by far my favorite. She crawls about five to ten feet away from me and then lays flat on the floor. She stays like that until I crawl over and kiss the back of her neck. Then she is off to her next spot and the game repeats, usually at least three times before she moves on to doing something else.
Hailey's bears continue to be called "bees." With most words we try to help her say the whole word correctly but sometimes we just don't have the heart to help her say bear since the "bee" is so cute.
This evening Hailey kept saying scratch and pointing to a scratch on her leg. (Her nails continue to be a challenge.)
Each year the staff of Saint Paul Children's NICU participates in the March of Dimes' March for Babies.
Once again this year, in memory of Ryan, we will be walking with them. This year's walk is in two months on April 25th just one day short of 21 months since Ryan and Hailey were born.
If you wish to donate to the March of Dimes you can click here or on the icon on the right of side of the blog.
While we were eating tonight Hailey slipped while standing next to Christine's chair in the dining room. We feed her first but she is always looking to see if she can have some of our food as well. (Even if it is the same food she just ate and was "done.")
The fall caused a small red mark on Hailey's chin and later when Christine was talking to her about it Hailey said the word chin.
Today she also said gate, door and Piglet (or something closer to "Pih"), a character on her toothbrush.
Barrettes in Hailey's hair are not currently an option as she pulls them out right away. Today she tried to say the word but it came out closer to "bets" than barrettes.
She also said her first registered trademark name: Donald Duck.
Still little success on getting Hailey to say U-S-A, but she did repeat "Torah" for Torah Bright, the Australian who won the gold medal in the half pipe. She was also saying bib and bath today.
"Done" is becoming a favorite word during meals and she also used it tonight when she decided she was finished brushing her teeth, or more accurately finished chewing on the toothbrush.
We are mourning the loss of our son Ryan and at the same time are very excited to have brought Hailey home from the hospital and now to have Logan as well.
We thank everyone for their continued prayers for Hailey and Logan.
Hailey
Hailey Renee and her twin brother Ryan Jacob were due November 9, 2008 but were born on Saturday July 26, 2008.
Ryan passed away on Monday August 4, 2008.
Hailey continued to improve at the NICU at Children's and came home on Wednesday November 5, 2008.
To help avoid illness, she (mostly) remained under "house arrest" until Sunday April 26, 2009 when we took her to the 2009 March for Babies.
Logan
Logan Matthew had an official due date of June 5, 2010 but was delivered with a scheduled c-section on May 12, 2010.
