Children's Hospitals changed things up for this year's NICU reunion. In the past there have been separate Minneapolis and St. Paul events held on the same day as the March of Dimes March for Babies walks.
This year they combined the reunions and changed the date so they could hold their own walk to raise money for Children's. Change does not always go over very well and the participation of St. Paul staff for the March of Dimes event back in May and today's reunion was significantly reduced. We saw very few people we knew either day.
On the plus side, today's event was held in a much larger facility, the State Fair Grandstand, giving much needed breathing room. They had an isolette on display which we were able to show Hailey. She had fun with the doors.
The walk before the reunion took us from the grandstand ramp down to the international bazaar, up machinery hill, around the parking lots behind the grandstand, past heritage square, and finally back to the ramp. We put the kids in the double stroller or else Hailey might still be walking. Logan enjoyed the walk but did need us to stop to give him some milk along the route; which of course meant Hailey needed her juice.
We had a fun afternoon at home before taking the kids to Grandma and Grandpa's for the night so we could go to the Cirque du Soleil show outside the Mall of America.
