Drawer

One of Hailey's favorite activities at Grandma and Grandpa's is opening and closing the drawers in a small roll top desk that I was given by my grandparents as a kid. Her cup, bowl and spoon for "feeding" her dolls and bears are kept there and she loves taking them out and then putting them back in.

This morning Hailey repeated the word wet, although it sounded more like "weh." Tonight she was saying keys for the picture of keys on her "K" block. She also repeatedly said watch when pointing to Christine's watch.

Baby Update: Gestational Diabetes?

The results are back from yesterday's test. Unfortunately Christine did not pass. The cutoff for passing is 139. Her score was 140. She now needs to go back on Thursday March 18th for a more precise test that takes three hours and involves four blood draws.

Red Horse

One of Hailey's favorite toys at Grandma and Grandpa's is the red bouncing horse. It is a loaner toy from her occupational therapist. When she first got it she was very scared to sit on it but now she has gotten to the point of loving it and even figuring out how to get on by herself a time or two.

Baby Update: Seventh Doctor Visit

Christine had another doctor appointment this morning. Measurements are right on track for 27 weeks.

She also had a test for gestational diabetes. She had to drink 5 ounces of Glucola before the appointment and then have blood drawn afterwords. No call back today with results so hopefully that is good news.

Reaching Higher

Tonight Hailey stood next to the refrigerator, up on her toes, pushing her magnets as high as she could.

Since I noted the picture count on our camera a year ago today, I just checked and today it went over the 65,000 mark.

Happy to See Mommy

This morning when we went to my parents to have lunch and pick up Hailey, she saw me first and had her normal happy reaction, the one I get most nights when I pick her up after work. Then she saw Christine and was the most spontaneously happy I have ever seen her. She got the biggest smile, threw her hands in the air, and let out the biggest happy scream. She kept going until Christine made it up the steps.

Back at home, she is really close to being able to climb up on our couch. She has managed it a time or two with something on the floor, like a blanket, to give her that little extra lift.

American Idol Footnote: Hailey's pick made it to Hollywood but then was relegated to the role of unnamed extra during Hollywood Week - Day One. No mention of whether he was cut or made it, but then we saw him in the background on some shots on Group Day. Again he was nothing but an extra and there were not even any shots of his group performing. Then came the Olympics and Idol was relegated to the TiVo stockpile of shows.

Tonight we watched the rest of Hollywood week and there he was in one of the "Rooms" of contestants, so he did survive Group Day. No mention of his status one way or the other until there he was standing on stage as one of the Final 24. Then they went through the dance segment naming the 24 and he wasn't there. A quick internet search showed there were issues with him potentially being under contract with someone and he was cut from the show and edited out as much as possible. I guess we'll never know how far Hailey's pick could have gone.

Grandma's Book for Hailey

This winter, Hailey's Grandma made her this book of her favorite things.
