Today Hailey turned eleven months old and celebrated with three milestones.
Hailey went on her first camping trip. Each year our "Small Church" group goes camping at Lake Elmo Park Reserve. This year that meant 28 adults, 36 children.
We arrived a little after noon and after setting up camp took Hailey to the beach for her first "swimming" experience. She was not a huge fan of the water, crying the first several attempts we made at getting her feet in the water. Eventually we sat down at the edge of the water and sitting on our legs let her feet get wet that way. The crying eventually stopped and she even had a little fun.
After supper we left camp and took Hailey home and then I took her to her grandparents' house for her first overnight visit. This will be the first night away from home and away from us since she came home from the hospital. While having her spend the night in the campground was one of the options considered, the fact that she still sleeps on an incline in her crib at night was the main reason she is not spending the night in our tent.
