Today Hailey had her first eye exam with Dr. Susan Schloff. (Dr. Benegas, the doctor who had been following Hailey, moved out of state at the end of 2009.)
We always go into these with a little trepidation, although that goes down a little each time. Today we were also a little concerned with what we might do if there was a different prognosis than what we had been hearing from the other doctor. Would that signify a change in the health of Hailey's eyes or represent a difference of professional opinion?
Thankfully that was an unwarranted concern. Today's exam, which included dilating the eyes, went very well. Dr. Schloff's opinion of Hailey's eyes was right in line with what we had been hearing from Dr. Benegas, perhaps even a little more upbeat. Hailey will now go six months before her next checkup in July.
