Today Hailey had her "Eighteen Month" checkup at her pediatrician's office.
With today's shots she is done with all of her infant vaccinations. She got a total of four shots today and while she screamed during the shots she showed no ill effects the rest of the day. Today's shots were Measles, Mumps and Rubella, her second Hepatitis A shot, and her fifth Diptheria, Tetanus and Pertussis shot. She also received the second half of her H1N1 vaccine.
Most of the appointment discussion revolved around her constipation and lack of weight gain which appear to be tied together. To battle the first problem we will start Hailey on Miralax, which despite the implication from the name is not a laxative and is not addictive.
Once that is under control Hailey's doctor believes Hailey will start eating more. Her lack of weight gain these last three months puts her well below the charts again but she does not "look thin." She has body fat in all the right places on her legs and arms etc. We are going to start feeding her foods with even higher calorie density and come in again at 20 months rather than waiting for her 2 year appointment.
