This morning I took Hailey to her nine month pediatrician appointment, then took her to work to show her off there for the first time and then finally dropped her off at my parents house.
Dr. Gendreau seemed very happy with Hailey's progress and little will change in her daily regimen for the next three months. Hailey will remain on Prevacid and Poly-vitamin drops with iron. She will continue to get almost all of her nutrition from milk and formula although we will start to feed her solids for developmental purposes. The doctor is fine that Hailey is down a feeding per day now that we wait for her to tell us she is hungry.
Hailey will continue to sleep in an elevated crib with a danny sling as long as she continues to put up with it. Once she gets to the point of crawling she will most likely fight the sling at which point we can go ahead and flaten the crib. The sling also has a weight limit of 18 pounds but that is still a ways off as Hailey topped the scale at 12 pounds even. That makes her small on any chart but also makes more than 7 times her birth weight.
The doctor answerd a bunch of other questions including is Hailey teething? Despite showing some signs mentioned in books, no.
Hailey's next visit to the pediatrican's office is scheduled for July 27th, one day after her first birthday.
Previous visits: February 2, January 2, December 1, November 21*, and November 10.
*All appointments were with Dr. Gendreau, except for 11/21 which was with Dr. Mayrand.
