Hailey woke up at 2:30am and then again at 5am, the second time with a fever over 101 F.
Between then and 8:45am she took short naps and cried the entire time she was awake. However, when Christine got back from her blood draw, everything seemed to make a turn for the better. Hailey had cooled down some and was happy. She smiled and played with her toys, etc.
So, we went ahead with our plans to do some Christmas shopping and drop Hailey off at Grandma and Grandpa's. When we got back we learned that Hailey had not had a fun day. She did not smile once while we were gone and remained warmer than normal. She had even fallen asleep in the middle of the living room floor, something that has only happened one other time at their house.
Seeing Christine again seemed to do wonders for her temperament. However, that effect began to wear off once we were home as her temperature went back up. After some more reading about fevers in books and online we put her to bed and tried not to worry.
