This morning we took the kids downtown to see the 8th floor display at Macy's. (We noticed the parking ramp elevator still has Dayton's engraved above the first floor button.) We were not sure if Christmas Eve would make this a really good or really bad idea in terms of lines but there was no waiting at all when we arrived.
This year's theme is "A Day in the Life of an Elf." Hailey was instantly excited upon entering the auditorium when she saw some paintings on the wall, even before she saw the animatronic elves. She continued to have a great time throughout the displays while Logan was content to be along for the ride in the stroller.
The kids first picture with Santa went well although at first Hailey wanted to go back to Christine even though she could see that Logan was doing just fine sitting on Santa's lap. Hailey's arms were straight out in front of her but eventually we convinced her to put them down. Meanwhile, Logan was fascinated by the cuff on Santa's sleeve and could have sat there a long time content to check that out.
