Hailey had her one year checkup with her pediatrician this morning. Hailey continues to be small for her unadjusted age of one year which is to be expected. 95% of one year old babies have a larger head, 96% are longer, and 99.9% weigh more.
Still, considering her starting point a year ago, Hailey's doctor is not concerned. We are however going to a more agressive solid food eating schedule. Solid foods will now be twice a day and we will be switching to stage two foods as soon as we finish Hailey's exposure to the full variety of stage one foods in the next week or so.
We are discontinuing Prevacid. Hailey had all but completely outgrown her current dose so the options were to either greatly increase the dose or try to quit using it. We opted for quitting but can revisit this if she starts to show discomfort from her reflux.
We will continue to be giving her Poly-Vi-Sol with Iron at the same dosage, 1ml once a day.
Hailey received two vaccines today. She received her first Hepatitis A shot as well as her fourth Pneumococcal shot. Hailey did well with these, not even needing any Tylenol for the pain.
Tonight's new food was pears. Again she finished the whole container.
Previous pediatrician visits: May 6, February 2, January 2, December 1, November 21, and November 10.
