Today we let Hailey and Logan open the last of their Christmas gifts. It got to be too late in the evening on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day for them (really Hailey) to open everything and ever since we realized they had plenty to play with so we kept putting these items off.
The old joke is that kids like the box more than the toy. Hailey puts a little different spin on that. She really likes seeing how the toy is used on the back side of the box and then comparing her actual toy to the picture. Many parts of her new airport were held up piece by piece to the pictures on the box.
She also gets very excited to see toys she already owns pictured on the ads on the side of the boxes. For example, the box that her Leap Frog dog came in had a picture of the Leap Frog Tag Junior reader. She ran to get that to hold up to the box and said "um, um, um" several times during the past week until we finally threw that box away.
