(Hailey at Twelve Months: 68.6 cm = 27 inches)Head Circumference: 44.5 cm = 17.52 inches
(Hailey at Twelve Months: 43 cm = 16.93 inches)Today Hailey turned Fifteen Months Old and celebrated with a checkup at her pediatrician's office.
Barring a differing second opinion at next week's
NICU Follow Up Clinic appointment, Hailey will not be getting the monthly
Synagis shot for RSV.
Hailey will get the regular flu shot and the H1N1 shot when available. She received her first half dose of the regular flu shot today and will get the second half in a month. She also received a
Diptheria, Tetanus & Pertussis vaccination today. The Chicken Pox
vaccine will be given in a month with the second half of the flu shot.
Hailey can start drinking whole milk in place of formula. Breast milk is still good for the antibodies but can be phased out as well. She still needs her Poly-Vi-Sol with iron for the next three months but we can stop adding pear juice to her milk.
Hailey can eat "anything" at this point as long as it is soft enough and small enough. (We will miss the convenience of food in jars.) We should continue to feed her baby cereal and if she decides she does not like it anymore, than we will need to mix it in with her food.
We need to begin brushing Hailey's teeth every night to create the habit now while it is easier.
Tonight Christine set Hailey up with her first real meal. Hailey fed herself crackers, cheese, carrots, potatoes and grapes, all of course cut up into barely discernible bite sizes. Then Christine fed her cereal and a couple of hours later gave her a bottle.
After her big meal Hailey was looking at a picture of the three of us and pointed to me and said
dada. Then when I kissed her goodnight she said it again. For several months she has been saying
mamamama and
dadadada and even sometimes just mama and
dada but for the most part it has not seemed to have meant anything. Tonight it sure seemed like it did.
