Children's Hospital sits just south of the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, home of next week's Republican National Convention. In the scope of everything that has happened this will be a minor inconvenience in our lives but with the convention comes a whole series of changes to the area including a no-drive zone directly between us and the hospital. For those familiar with the area we will need to take 94 to Dale to Summit to Ramsey to Grand to Smith to get to the hospital.
Knowing this was the last nice weekend day prior to the "circus," we spent the afternoon and early evening enjoying the 7th Street and Xcel area first with my parents and then with Christine's dad. We ate at the 7th Street Dairy Queen with my parents and then walked around the spruced up "X." Then when Bruce visited we ate at The Liffey's second story terrace (at the Holiday Inn) overlooking the "X."
