Head ultrasound:
Today Christine received the official head bleed rundown from yesterday's ultrasound. Things are really looking better. It is now considered just a Grade 1 bleed. At its worst on August 1st, it was borderline Grade 3. There appears to be no new bleeding and the blood that is there is going away slowly on its own.
Spinal tap:
Again this morning they began to worry about Hailey to the point of considering a spinal tap. And again the decision was made not to do it.
Occupational therapy:
Hailey had her second OT visit and again did very well on her tests. She will begin exercises soon.
Weight gain:
Hailey continues to gain weight at a pace more rapidly than she should. They started giving her a second diuretic. She is now getting both Diuril and Lasix.
Breathing tube news:
As is often the case, today the tube moved slightly enough to be a problem. The usual routine ensued. Decide how much to move the tube. Move the tube. Bring in the x-ray machine. Get the x-ray image back. Decide that the tube is now where it belongs. In addition, make note of what the x-ray says about her lungs - today there was some fuzziness.
Some good breathing news:
When we left for the night Hailey was almost in room air, which is 21% oxygen. She was breathing just 24% oxygen. She has spent hours here or there at room air awhile ago but it has been a long time since she been down this low.
Visitors:
During the day Hailey was visited by her grandfather Bruce and his sister Lois. This evening Doris visited and we enjoyed the nice weather by eating outside at Patrick McGovern's.
