Today Christine drove for the first time since July 25th. She was able to sleep in a little and then drive herself to the hospital. Leaving the hospital she had the joy of someone driving on the wrong side of a divided side street heading straight at her. Thankfully she was able to avoid the guy.
Hailey had a good day with blood gases and x-rays both looking good. The next scheduled scary thing for her (and us) is her first eye exam which should be late Monday evening.
Hailey was visited in the early evening by Judd and Becky who brought us dinner.
For the first time since 8/21, over two weeks ago, Hailey was held by both of us on the same day. Christine held her for an hour and forty five minutes this afternoon and then I held her for an hour and ten minutes this evening.
Today was also a nice day in that Hailey had a primary nurse on both the day and evening shifts. We are very happy that Hailey is at Children's and that we live so close to a great hospital. Every nurse takes good care of her, but it is nice when her primaries work. She has four primary nurses that in most cases are assigned to Hailey when they are working. They know Hailey and we know them and it just makes for a more relaxing day.
