1,465 grams = 3 pounds 4 ounces
Hailey has doubled in weight. Her first official weight at Children's was 720 grams. In her first days she went as low as 640 grams. But today she passed the 1440 mark to more than double her weight. She has grown a little longer as well, now at 15 1/4 inches, up from her original 13 inches.
Today they increased her milk intake from 27ml to 29ml every three hours. At her current growth rate she may be ready to leave her isolette and move to a crib in about two weeks. She will need to be at least 1,800 grams before that can happen.
In another mark of progress the heavy isolette blanket/cover will no longer be on all of the time. They will use a lighter blanket that allows in some light to slowly get her used to lights. They will also start to introduce brighter lighting during the day and having things darker at night.
The SiPAP machine continues to be used without the extra bursts of air which effectively makes it a CPAP machine. The settings are about as low as they can go. The pressure is set at six which can't be set lower and the oxygen level is ranging in the low twenties, with 21% being as low as that can go. She may be switched to the next lower level of breathing machinery, high flow, within the next couple of days.
Hailey was visited this evening by Sue.
