This morning we visited the cemetery where Ryan was buried. This was our first time back since the funeral. We need to pick out a grave marker soon.
We had lunch at my parents that included corn on the cob that my uncle Scott had brought back from Iowa yesterday.
This afternoon we returned to the hospital in the midst of anti-war protest. We faced a wall of police in riot gear at Kellogg and John Ireland forcing a left or right turn. We had wanted to turn right anyway but this was interesting as this new perimeter was several blocks outside what had been the secured zone.
When we were inside the hospital checking the internet we learned that there had just been an incident at the corner right outside the "Red Ramp" that we use. Protesters had lit a dumpster on fire and pushed it into police cars sitting at the corner.
Later as we both caught a quick nap in Hailey's room the hospital went into a lock down for about an hour. No one was allowed to enter or leave the hospital.
Hailey, none the wiser, had one of her best days that we can remember.
We were greeted with news that there was potentially another infection so she was put back on a second antibiotic. However, this family of bacteria is the one that is most likely to be a false positive so at this point we are not too concerned.
Her hemoglobin was low so she received another blood transfusion.
Her right leg IV "blew out" so a new one was put in her right arm.
All of this, and more, was the update we were greeted with when we got to Children's. However, while we were there the rest of the afternoon and evening things went very smoothly. Hailey was in low oxygen most of the day, as low as 23, and she needed very little adjustments. It was the least amount of adjustments in eight or ten days.
The mark on her back, in top picture of her today, is from her ductus surgery. It should heal to a small line that may not even be visible in the future.
