Hailey is six weeks old today and she reached another milestone as well. She was switched this afternoon to eating every three hours, instead of every two. Her last two hour feeding was at noon with her first three hour feeding at three o'clock. Since she will be eating less often she will be getting more each time. At three she received 20ml and that went well so at six that was increased to 25ml.
Hailey was visited this afternoon by Bill, Carolyn, and Kim who we met at Cafe Latte on Grand before heading down the hill to the hospital.
Late afternoon we spent quite a bit of time talking with her nurse and nurse practitioner. Overall they seem very pleased with Hailey's progress. Her next biggest hurdle is weaning off her current vent. While there will hopefully be some progress on that front in the form of changes to the vent settings it is unlikely that the CPAP will be tried this week. Back on 8/18 when there was the unsuccessful attempt at the CPAP there was hope that we were only a week or two from trying again. However, the last week and a half of dealing with infection scares have set that back.
This evening we left Hailey a little early to have dinner at Bill and Julie's.
