Hailey's eyes were examined today by Dr. Quiram. The results from last week's laser surgery look very good. Still, that good news was delivered with an equal dose of caution. In most cases that laser surgery is needed, it isn't needed until 36 weeks. Since Hailey needed it so soon, at 33 weeks, she is at increased risk for needing additional laser surgery or even regular surgery to deal with a detached retina. Based on Dr. Quiram's experience and the way Hailey's eyes look right now, that risk for additional work needed is about 20%. She won't be out of the woods on this until about week 40. She will have an eye exam every week between now and then.
Hailey had a good day breathing and if things go well overnight there is a chance she will move from High Flow to Low Flow tomorrow.
