This morning Hailey was moved from High Flow to Low Flow. The first time she was on Low Flow it was for less than 48 hours before she had to be reintubated for surgery. Hopefully she can stay on Low Flow a little longer this time without a setback.
For the first time we had a practitioner predict when Hailey might come home. She said she was pretty sure we will have her home by her due date, November 9th. This has always been told to us as a generic rule of thumb for babies in the NICU but never stated as a specific prediction about Hailey. She also thought it was likely that Hailey would be on oxygen when we bring her home. We will have to attend an oxygen class and an acid reflux/CPR class in the next few weeks to be ready.
We gave Hailey a bath tonight and she really seemed to like it. She acts more and more like a full term baby every day.
